I've first learnt Pascal (which I love). Then i learned Kylix, VB and now I'm with C, and it's not being too hard cuz i already nowed the most difficult thing: program! :D Once u know a programmoing language, the rest seem a translation of that one (with some differences obvously :D). I want to learn C++ after C, but I prefer to get in touch with the syntaz style before diving into classes land.

I will say this: To java and C#'s credit, you don't need to mess with header files and conditional compilation wrappers (like #ifndef / # define # endfif).
However, from a performance stabd point, most Operating Systems today are written primarily in C and assembly. C is used for very high performance, and a relatively easy language (when compared to assembly). I recommend anyone learn c/c++ of not for performance, for familiarity with pointers and how things are done behind the scenes |
