i franken-batch (windows bat|cmd) occasionally. Eventually they become nice.

I've gotten rather good at bash scripting over the last 6-7 years, since I started using Linux regularly. I've made a few aborted attempts at tutorials for C, perl, and python, but none of it has managed to stick for long.

I guess I just don't need anything other than bash, although I do have a couple of applications in mind that I'd like to write if I had the ability. If I had the time and energy to really study and get good at it, I think I could write some pretty decent stuff (as long as it doesn't involve complex mathematics. I suck at math ).

It seems like I'm just the opposite, then. I know C and Java very well and really like them, but somehow I can't really get such a good hold of scripting languages, especially bash, which after being used to C and Java feels to me like some rube-goldberg contraption ready to fall apart.
