Develop For Unity

Is there any developement libs for Ubuntu's Unity or is it all still done with the gnome api?
To be more clear, I want to make a native Unity app. Oh and C++ please, I HATE!!! C's file io.

Unity is just Gnome 3 with a different look. Everything underneath Unity is Gnome 3 so just develop whatever using Gnomes tools.

After a quick search through synapatic (always forget to do that) there are about four unity-dev stuff. I'm guessing they are just meta-packages for gnome development stuff until unity becomes idependant.

How will Unity become independent? It relies on Gnome to even exist let alone anything else.

I don't know... Maby they will optimize the gnome stuff for unity then some other stuff and maybe some black magic.

Gnome "stuff" will be optimised for Gnome, if Unity can't handle that Canonical will have to fix Unity.
