DBI data_sources authentication?!?

Hey all,

I am trying to pull a list of active DB's managed by a MySQL instance running on localhost. The problem is that I cannot enable anon auth to query, so I have to find a way to allow the data_sources function from the DBI pm to authenticate me...

The syntax for anon is:
@variable = DBI->data_sources("mysql");
I have tried several variations of this including the authentication info - it always freaks.

There is a longer example in the DBI::mysql man page that entails using the _ListDBs function, but that doesn't work either.

Has anyone done this?
