Wink counting packets with an ethernet interface


Hi experts
i need to counting arrival and outgoing packets in an interval. what is your suggested library or method or etc to me? I'am a c and c++ programmer. i have worked with libpcap, what's your opinion.tnx alot

I don't belong to the category of experts, but I still felt like answering to this post
You could try to have a look at the source code of the application called iptraf. It's lightweight and in one of its modes it does exactly that - counts out&incoming packets of network interfaces.

Sorry, as I have the opportunity to chat with a C/C++ programmer on Linux: did you ever use QT for your programs? I'm using Eclipse + QT for C/C++ and wanted to know what you think about it, if you ever used it.
Are you using an IDE to write your programs?

aaam yes, I am use up vim editor and somewhen mcedit! i have not familiar with eclipse, sorry!. additionally, yes it was Really glorious helps
i am newbie in QT and i have not any suggestion to you
