Contribute to Project

I am somewhat familiar with C++ and Qt3. I would really like to improve my skills by helping out a project in need. Does anyone know where I can go to find such a project?

I've made a puzzle game for Qt-1 and (later) Qt-2, as my first program to practice programming for Linux. It worked fine, and looks rather nice (IMHO), considering it was my first project for Linux.

However it doesn't compile with Qt-3, and didn't have time to fix this. If you feel like having a look at it, I'd would pleased if you could fix it up for Qt-3.

The project is still out there at http://qleuren.sourceforge.net/

You find lots of open source projects on Sourceforge.net, and most of the projects need additional help.

How do I find projects, which need help on SourceForge?

The best thing to do is to go through the projects and find one which is of interest to you. Download it and go through the source code. Use it and see if there are functions which you think need to be added or bugs to be fixed.

You could also look at programs which haven't been updated for a while.

SF.net has a Help Wanted page with projects explicitely looking for help, but there aren't a lot and it's unlikely that you find a project that you like.
