all im doing now to save my practice sessions is save them in "open office" with a biot of luck thats short term

Erm, how do you expect the editor to save your new changes without overwritting your other work unless it makes a new seperate file for it??

well you have misunderstood imagine this i have just finished a practice session so i save my work
the following day i want to practice some more and save my work to the same file.but it wont let me it will only let me erase my old work and save my new. i hope that is a bit more clear if not let me know

You mean append your new stuff to your old stuff? Then open the old work in IDLE, edit/add to it, and then save.

Hi master,

To change to a directory:

import os # obviously this would be best at the top of your program

os.chdir("bcm")

Hope you enjoy python!
