Communicating with CDRom

Hi. I've found a lack of a CD ripping frontend for linux that meets all of my needs, so I am planning to write a new one in C++. However, I am inexperienced in two things, when it comes to C++/C:

Dealing with CDROM I/O
Dealing with other programs (cdparanoia)

Does anyone know what libraries exist for these two things and where I can find a reference? I think I have found a little bit about dealing with other programs, but not CD I/O. Thanks!

For CDROM, have a look at http://www.leapster.org/linux/cdrom/

That helped a bit. I also found this:

and just looking at linux/cdrom.h helps a lot. Thanks!
