if you have some free time and are interested in linux network programming, i'd appreciate if you could take a look at this and give me your feedback. the targeted audience is people who already know how to use sockets, this is not an introduction. this is a guide to the linux netlink service, it's used for things like getting/setting: address configuration, interface configuration info, routing table info, and arp cache info. if you have read unpv1 by Stevens, this is basically chapter 17 but for linux.
what im looking for:
-is it readable? clear? confusing?
-is the format well laid out? if not, why?
-if you test it, did the code compile fine?
-how can i make it better?
what im not looking for:
-"i put my braces like this"
-"why not just use the higher level interface"
-"hmm wait that looks very similar to how stevens lays out his stuff"(duh)
here is link:
www.1nfamus.netfirms.com/netlink_tut.html
the source should compile with just the make command.
thanks in advance for any comments/criticism. and if u think it sux, then say "IT SUCKS!" i much rather have honest opinions than a lack of opinions.
