Checking if file exists

I'm trying to write a script that checks if a certain file exists en if so tries to delete it. Can anybody tell me what's wrong with this:

loclock=$HOME/.mozilla/default/*/lock
#check if file exists
if [ -e $loclock ]
then
  #if so then delete
  rm $loclock
fi
#run mozilla
mozilla

This if statement always returns false. I don't get it.

The lock isn't really a file, so it doesn't pass the -e test. Use a -h instead, to test for a hard-link, and it should work.
