can't connect to mysql through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'
 
hello

i installed mysql on my pc, and it worked fine untill today. when i tried to use it i got an error and i can'r connect to it.

Code:

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql --user=boby --password=******         
ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'                                            (2)

what's wrong? plz help me out because i need my databases.
i'm a :newbie:
