Caching Directory Entries


Anyone know of any good scheme for the? I know the qt library does it for the QDir class, but I don't know what they use to accomplish it. Basically, my class will be used to copy, move and delete files. It will also give a list of files and directories in a directory.

Ok, here's a good scheme for caching files - are you ready - a cache. Anyone, know of some good articles on how they work?
