C++ console streaming problem

Hello,

I have got a very simple C++ program and I want to read in from the keyboard a number but the thing is it has to look like this:
CASE#:
____________

With 12x _ and when the person types in a letter for example: 7 it should look like this:
7___________

AND if the user would it backspace it should remove the 7 and replace it with _

Does anyone here know about some function or something that does this kind of thing easily ???

Thank you for your time

I have not used it, but I am fairly sure that ncurses can do that sort of thing. Check out the ncurses HOWTO and Writing Programs with NCurses.
