c compiler windows/linux

I'm looking for what would be good for me. Mostly I'll be running windows for C programming, I think. I'd like a nice C workspace if there is such a thing. Either way, a good, easy C *whatever*. (I'm just learning.)

Thanks for any help,

Jalal

DevC++ is a good free Windows IDE.

If you really are after C, and not C++, another small standalone choice is lcc...
Not actually a true IDE, just an editor+compiler+linker with sintax hilighting and online help... handy for small console or dialog-based projects.
