C, C++, and ASM books


What are some good books from non programmer to advanced in C, C++, and ASM?

While not necessarily tied to C or C++ I'd recommend reading the
"Write great code" series.

Is that book based on C, or C++? How many series are there?

No, it's not. It's most tightly tied to assembler; and there are
three books in the series.
