C a "DOS" Native/Microsoft C

Hello,

I have a software which is meant to run on microsoft native machines. This is a Numerical Recipes software. But i am not able to get that software.

The installation says you run an install.exe program which pretty does it, of course i run a slackware distro so that i cannot run A:install on DOS but my reasoning [Maybe it is flawed] is that it is C [Platform independent right?] anyway so there should be a pretty easy way to "redirect" this whole shenanigans to run on my system. This is the reason i have come to you the wise ones!

Please i need this help really quick!

Thank you.

xmeson.

xmeson,

Try running dosemu to install it. Are there any other files? maybe it is just a zip file?

I doubt that C code written for DOS will compile out of the box on a UNIX machine. There are many limitations that have to be coded around. I'm not saying it is impossible, just unlikely.

Try looking at www.netlib.org for mathematical software.
