building dynamic charts

Hi

I am trying to build a small project for my class this summer. I am doing this to learn web development using Java Scripts and MySQL.
I want to build a webpage for my class where they can choose either "like = 1" or "dislike = 0" for each homework problem we are assigned - and theb represent the results on a chart (a histogram.)

Since I am still a beginner I would like to know the best way to do this. I am already familiar with MySQL which I plan to use to keep my classmates choices. I have found many JS based tools on the web (some of them are free for noncommercial uses - which is my case) such as google charts.

I also want the chart (histogram) to reflect statistical changes once entered by a student, that is a dynamically changed graph.

Any suggestions are very appreciated; I want to know how to start.

It sounds like your Javascript skills are not quite at the level where you can comfortably work with Google Charts. If that's true, then you need to build them up.

Douglas Crockford's "Javascript: The good Parts" is a good book to have.

There's also Google University:

And MDN:

Thank you for your reply. I checked the book in from library. I wonder if there can be anything I can do now while reading the book to get started,

Thanks again
