Arrow Blender 3D SMP?

I have the source code for Blender 2.40. Is there a way to get Blender to use both of my processors? When I make detailed meshes Blender slows down really bad. The requirements are a 500MHz CPU; I have, dual 450MHz, and I want to get full use of them.

Thanks

From what i remember, blender only uses one cpu and the graphic card mainly, except when you render, then you can configure it to use multiple processors, altough if it's going slow when you are making detailed meshes make sure you have direct rendering on you graphic card as it will make it work alot better. If you are using software rendering you're going to have problems.

Yes, slowness is mostly a video card issue. If you want to use SMP when rendering, you could always use another renderer (yafray?).
