Best programming language??

Yes yes I know. There is no such thing as the best programming language. But. What is your favourite programming language and why???

Wrong question, even though you know.

For example, lately I've been writing in Perl, "C", GNU Octave because I need the languages for the problem I'm solving.

In VLSI world I typically write in Verilog, Perl, "C".
