Beginner looking to start: Advice required

I've been programming in Pascal and subsequently Delpi for awhile now (most of other programming is in scripts) .

So I've seen the need for a few GUI and other small app. Pasca GTK+ integration FPC i find to be ver complex. So I am looking towards learning C++ and using Glade, etc.

I would like pointers on wear exactly to start of, and where to get linux specific information such as running commands and catching output from programs/scripts.

I would like to put KDevelop to good use. I just need to know where to start.

Thank you.

have you read thru the KDevelop 3 user manual??
open KDE help center and click the development tree................
perl and/or python might be your best bet, but read that manual!!
