avoiding the word "Unix" in a project name

The working title for my new project is "Resourcerver: Unix Resource Server." I'd like to avoid the word "Unix," but "Linux" isn't a good substitute because it will support BSD, etc. and I still want to clarify that the POSIX API is used (i.e. won't work on Windows, etc.) What's a good way to clarify both? Thanks.

You could use the old *nix which covers Unix and any clones or variants or -alikes.

I use that often, but in a project title? I'll consider that.

I suppose that works. Thanks.

If it's Posix specific, use that 'Posix' instead ?

I was thinking that, but it's more GNU + Posix, and to those Linux users who don't know what Posix it is it might sound like some mystical OS that's not theirs. Yes, they can look it up, but they can also just move onto something else instead.

It sounds like a fairly technical proj/app, so that (mystical) may not be a prob for your target audience. Correct me if I'm wrong of course... :)

Yeah, not really for the casual user trying to chat with babes on the internet all day. If all goes well, the real end-users won't have to know what it is.
