Apache installation problem on FC4
I'm trying to install apache web server on my Fedora Core 4 system.
I've downloaded latest version's source (httpd-2.2.0.tar.gz) & extracted it as
tar -xzvf /tmp/httpd-2.2.0.tar.gz
then I inserted the following commond:
#cd /tmp/httpd-2.2.0
#./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache--enable-module=so
#make
#make install
But I recieved the following message:
"checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking how to run the C preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details.
configure failed for srclib/apr
[root@localhost httpd-2.2.0]# make
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
[root@localhost httpd-2.2.0]# make install
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
[root@localhost httpd-2.2.0]#"
Being a newbie I'm utterly unable to find the cause & solution to this error.
Any help/guidance from LAMP guru(s) would be a cool breeze.Thanks.
