Altering priority of queues on pbs

I am sending jobs to a PBS queueing system. It is a cluster with 10 nodes. I sent 100 jobs so now 10 jobs are running and 90 are on the waiting list. Afterwards I realized that I need to send an urgent job; I need the results as soon as possible, but the previous jobs will finish in two days !

So I wonder if you know how in PBS is possible to send new jobs with more priority so they are run above the previous jobs.

I tried qsub -p -1024 but the job continues to be on the waiting list.

I don't know PBS...

... but you should be able to submit your "high priority" job to a different queue. PBS *does* support more than one queue at a time, doesn't it?

Otherwise, surely PBS gives you a "qsub"-like command to temporarily *suspend* items in the queue, doesn't it?

The "man" pages should all be on-line (e.g. in /usr/pbs/man):

'Hope that helps .. PSM
