A really Free multiplatform framework/IDE for mobile development
Hi!
Guys, what's a really Free framework for mobile development? and I mean really Free. Xamarin doesn't run on linux (or does it?), I almost had a heart arrest when I saw that appcelerator's IDE asks for login on startup.... come on! Is mobile development the new unexplored territory to do development on Free platforms with no strings attached?
What makes an IDE specific to mobile development vs desktop, server, cluster, or other development? Is your need for android, iOS, or other?
Have you looked at or considered emacs, eclipse, or other general IDE?
Let's trim it down to android/iPx at the moment. But then how do I go about to do _native_ development for both platforms (besides hosting a mobile frontend for a web application)? I haven't look around much for the different possibilities available out there.
Java? I know android uses its own software stack plus I _hate_ working swing stuff... perhaps android has its own GUI stuff? I'm a newbie on this topic so excuse my ignorance. Even if I make it work in android, can a Java application be ported _easily_ to iPx?
