A Python Editor

I was wondering if someone could recommend a good editor for Python. I'm trying to learn it and I need something to program in. Thanks

Either an editor which understands Python syntax like KWrite, or just use the Python IDE called IDLE. It's a highlighting text editor as well as interactive python shell.

Although it's massive overkill, I like Eclipse with the PyDev plugin.

May be a bit off-topic, but talking about editing python with emacs:

Does anybody know how to indent with spaces instead of real tabs (when pressing <TAB>) in emacs' python-mode?
