Why I keep getting "Cannot run program "dir": error=13, Permissions denied"

I am a mac user but probably the problem should be the same, using anything.
I keep getting this:
Failed: Cannot run program "/Applications/MacPyMOL.app": error=13, Permission denied

I have done chmod 777 at MacPyMOL.app and in the configuration file of the program (CMVIEW) that I am runnig, I have given the directory for MacPyMOL.app in the configuration file (cmview.cfg) as the manual said.

In Java preferences: I have set once the 32-bit and once 64-bit as the prefered application to use (don't know the difference)!

I have updated to Mac 10.6.8 and Java 1.6. The problem persists. I don't have any solution any more.

Thanks in advance

No, sorry...Linux is not anywhere NEAR the same as Mac OS. Mac OS is a pay-for, supported OS...I would suggest contacting Apple, and asking them. There MAY be someone here who knows about Mac's, but really....an Apple/Mac forum is more appropriate and would get you an answer quicker.
