Mounting home folder

I have setup an Open Directory and want my users to mount the home folder to /users/, the default setup. The option to use as home directory is checked. When I login as a test user, the client gives an error, could not find home folder, and a folder named 99 shows up at the top of the drive, but no folder under /users (local) or /users on the server. I tried creating the folder on the server then modifying perms. The test user can write to the folder but it just won't automount.

Any ideas what I can check?

you say "automount", do you mean it? or it just wont make that users home folder what you want?

in /etc/passwd, you indicate the users home folder location.....is that correct in there?

None of my OD users appear in /etc/passwd.

Interesting, I have been trying with 2 different user accounts, I tried a third and it worked. All the typical subfolders appear in the /users/username/ folder. I cannot see what is different about this user that it works and the others don't.
