Minix 3 Firewall?

I would like to use my minix system for my everyday computing needs as it will help me to learn a lot faster by use.

Tools are already available for surfing the net (lynx), email retrieval and reading usenet (pine).

My question: is there a firewall for minix 3?

i dont think theres a firewall for minix but tanenbaum mentioned bsd pf somewhere down here :: http://lwn.net/Articles/156829/

worst come to worst you can probably crack open a 486 with this one :: http://www.jimweller.net/jims/lfw/ ... seems that he is using minix file system at some point ... note :: he is using ipchains ...

//hope these helps ...

minix firewall

I dont think that would work as there is no IP chains in minix. but thanks anyway. A dude at the Minix newsgroup wrote that a firewall is not needed because its possible for a admin to get total control over a minix box by altering a few scripts. Because its so small code wise, and rare, it cannot readily be exploited like the larger production Os's.

Apparently, thats why no attempt has been made to implement a firewall for minix!! not needed..
