MLED is not about having the latest and greatest. It's about having a stable system. If you have to install the latest version of everything, then Arch Linux or Gentoo might be more adapted to your needs.

Cheers,

Niki

I'm not sure whether to flame you or compliment your stupidity. If that is your philosophy, then MLED 14.2 should have never the seen the light of day. Maybe you should downgrade owncloud, vlc, flash plugin etc.... because the updated versions serve no purpose. Or maybe you should switch to Windows because they don't have any updates for vulnerabilities, bugs and any other problems. MLED is NOT perfect right out the box.

Post reported. Since this is not the first time you're extremely rude and violent, consider yourself persona non grata. Future posts will simply be ignored, I'll leave the rest to LQ's moderator. This is the MLED forum, not a therapy group for borderline personalities.

You should learn to respect others and maybe you will get it in return. You so emotional. All I did was post some updates of software and you jump down my throat. I don't know how they do in your country, but if you disrespect someone, you can expect the same in return.

Updated a couple packages and nothing is broke on my system. At least I haven't notice any issues. Here's a screenshot. Its probably best if you keep MLED updated or I will be force to become a linux connoisseur, rearrange your scripts, replace your name with mines and upload it on my site. Ciao

Can you explain why you downgraded Blender? Here is an image of the files I have updated, running a nice clean smooth system. Take it with a grain of salt, I won't lose no sleep. Everything installed with no issues.

Sounds like an excellent idea, provided you don't forget to create your own forum.

I see you have updated LibreOffice.

Here is a list a of some more packages that needs updating. You definitely don't want your customers using outdated banking software.

blender
evince
flashplayer-plugin
flowblade
HandBrake
homebank
librecad
plank

You already pointed out available updates, I answered you, and got insulted as a result. Note that MLED's upgrade policy mainly concerns security-related or bugfix-oriented upgrades, and it's not about always having the latest and greatest. Since you were repeatedly rude (berating my stupidity, promising to tear me a new one, suggesting I might kill myself, etc.), I notified to you that you are persona non grata in this forum. Now I suggest again you take all your Linux knowledge and create your own distribution according to your own special needs, along with your own user forum.

My patience is reaching its limit. Just like MLED there are other distributions that do not automatically provide the latest and greatest packages. As suggested if you want bleeding edge there are other distributions.
