Regarding the error, check the result of this command:
Code:
ls -l /var/log/packages/slackpkg+*
If it returns more than one file or the filename contains "upgraded", it probably means that you made several attempts at launching the mledoffline.sh script and the previous attempts "botched" the installation.

It happened to me (when installing other packages) while using mledoffline.sh and I attributed it a connection problem of the USB key because after removing the "upgraded" packages, the script reran without error.

Should you have a "slackpkg+*upgraded" file return from previous command, you should removed the package using:
Code:
removepkg /var/log/package/slackpkg+*upgraded*

Everything seems to work except for the DVD read-only issue. Other than that, great work.

Can you be more specific about the "permission denied" error in scripts trim.sh/cleanmenu.sh? Do you mean that the scripts do not run at all or that the error message appears during the execution of the script (for ex in trim.sh: at which step: before or after the first check of installed packages?).

Providing the result of the following command could be helpful to check that nothing's wrong with the DVD:
Code:
ls -la /your_DVD_mount_point/microlinux/desktop-14.2-32bit/tools/
I can update the mledoffline.sh script to copy the tools directory to a temporary location on the machine on which MLED is installed and run the scripts from there. But I would like first to understand the error to make sure it's not linked to the mledoffline.sh script in the first place.

Thanks again for your testing.

Updated mledoffline.sh script

Well, I guess I found the issue with the "permission denied" error when running the scripts from DVD.

You can refer to the following discussion for background information: why-do-i-have-to-use-sh-to-execute-scripts-from-cd-dvd-media

Herewith the updated mledoffline.sh script.

Changelog:
Code:
$ diff mledoffline.sh.txt.old mledoffline.sh.txt
371c371
< ./trim.sh
---
> sh ./trim.sh
426c426
< ./cleanmenu.sh
---
> sh ./cleanmenu.sh

File Type: txt mledoffline.sh.txt (13.8 KB, 36 views)
