I don't want to sound patronizing but have you installed a standard Slackware system recently (let's say since Slacwkare 14.1 was released)?
I'm just asking because your question is a bit surprising if one is used to installing Slackware.
To clarify a bit here's a short background to avoid misunderstanding (and I apologize if you were already familiar with this).
The MLED project whose installation guide you're trying to follow is not a distribution forked from Slackware but an add-on project to the Slackware distribution. As such, one big assumption is that the user will first install a Slackware system and then will proceed with adding packages specific to MLED.
Consequently, the MLED installation guide is going through some short-cuts regarding the first part of the installation process which focuses on installing Slackware using TAG files. After running "setup", the user is supposed to know her way through the Slackware setup system and should easily recognize the steps "PACKAGE SERIES SELECTION", etc
In fact, the installation of MLED specific packages starts only at step "Download the Microlinux scripts".
That's why in my previous answer, I refer you to the Slackware installation documentation because you first need to install Slackware. You can do a standard full installation of Slackware by following the Slackware installation documentation and then you can install MLED specific packages using the MLED installation guide from the step I mentioned above.
Installing Slackware with the TAG file option is an efficient way to prepare for MLED because it will only install the packages necessary to MLED. But a full installation of Slackware also works but is less efficient because some packages will be installed during the Slackware step and will then be removed during the MLED step.
May I suggest that you try to focus first on installing a standard Slackware system using this
Slackware installation guide from the
Slackware documentation project.
Should you need support for that task, please post in the
official Slackware installation sub-forum. I have no doubt that you'll get the necessary support.
