Question Where is the trash can?

I was under the impression that 6.5 simply didn't use a trash can & just deleted everything. I have heard that there is a trash can after all. It isn't in any of the usual start menu or task menu options.

If it can't be removed, how can one at least empty it on a regular basis?

Other then that, Mepis has performed flawlessly for the most part.

User trash is usually ~/.Trash
If you rt-click a panel, click "add to panel", you should see an option to add the trash applet. To my knowledge, SimplyMepis does not have a "start" menu.

mdlinuxwolf,
By "start menu" do you mean "KMenu"?

OK, I managed to add the trash can and a few other things to the panel.

Start menu --- lower left --- M$ (bad habit) Sorry about that.

However, now the applets are scattered over the bottom instead of in one corner or the other. Can they somehow be dragged and dropped? I like to have things organized.

Never mind, now it works. Right click, select the black crossed arrows at the top and drag it. For the benefit of others, there is a lot of configurations possible. Customization is a snap.
