Where is DocumentRoot?

Hello!
I'm trying to setup Mepis as a webserver, but I can't find the DocumentRoot variable in apache's configuration files (/etc/apache2).

Can somebody please tell me how to change the default document directory for Apache2?

If you're looking for what I think you are, I just found it in 000-default in the sites-enabled directory of Apache2.

when you type localhost in firefox, that page you see is from /var/www/apache2...(file name which i have forgoten since i replaced it with my own

)

Other then that, you will find all your files in /etc/apache2/

I don't understand why they need to put the configuration in several files. It was easier when everything was in httpd.conf
