What is the best Kernel for MEPIS?
What is the best Kernel to use if I want to compile a new kernel for Mepis? What version is most reliable and works best with Mepis?
I want to compile the Kernel myself so that it runs faster and more efficiently.

Also,
where is a good, decent, easy-to-use manual to do that?

there is no easy to use manual for configuring kernels, because it just isnt all that simple. i currently use 2.6.12 but usb-storage is slow
if you dont need usb-storage its a great kernel to use

best kernel, I would think, is the MEPIS-specific kernel listed in SynapticNewer ones are bigger, i.e. a bit slower, but support more hardware
