I recently installed Mepis 2004.06 onto my computer. I then tried to use Kpackage manager to install gaim, firefox, and a few other apps. I fixed the issue of having outdated repositories, but I have another issue. Everything I try to install crashes and says "problem early unloading e2fsprogs" I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

sorry to say this but mepis 2004.06 is very old and is very unusual in the linux world to use an old version of any distro to years is a long time the new mepis 6.0 comes out soon. I dont know why you are having these problems. I am a new mepis user and have never used 2004.6 or seen

[some people do this as they find some thing not working in some newer distros]
