Debian is going to replace XFree with Xorg very soon. Probably within two months if not less. When that happens there will be a new version of Meips as well as a way to upgrade to the new X.
For those who are gamers there will be benefits but for anyone who is a 'normal user' there is not much difference that you will see when xorg is used instead of XFree. Bottom line this change is mostly about politics and not technology.
