sound problem.

I am using mepis linux... don't providing sound nowadays through my speaker... But if i login with root username & password... same speaker giving good sound.... but not in normal one.... anyone can help how to fix this issue.

Is your normal user in the audio group? Issue "groups" as that normal user in a terminal.
