Repository Problems

i'm new to linux and have found the software download method quite different than windows. the process is actually pretty cool and straight forward except for one thing...

-- i have not found one place that holds accurate repository addresses. more often then not, i end up getting an error when updating my repositories. i'm sure this is more me not knowing the process than the process itself. does anyone know of one single place i can go that says "these are the active repositories and they work?"

as it stands now, i end up searching through the mepislovers forums for repository entries and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

in my most recent case, they worked when i first used them and now they don't.

any help w/b appreciated.

The current standard MEPIS version of the /etc/apt/sources.list file can always be found here:
http://www.mepislovers-wiki.org/inde...e=Sources.list
You can edit the file directly or through Synaptic, but either way you'll need to be root.
