"SimplyMEPIS 6.5 RC3 adds Beryl 0.2.0 Final and Installer Translations" Mar 23, 2007
Quote:
MEPIS has begun a new internationalization initiative. So far, the MEPIS Translation Team has provided German, Spanish, French, Dutch, and Brazilian Portuguese translations for the MEPIS Installer.

That's 11 months ago, since then MEPIS 7.0 has been released.
I just booted the 7.0 LiveCD into English, verifying that Brazilian Portuguese is one of the boot option (at F2), & then the 6.5.02 LiveCD into that Brazilian Portuguese option. Not everything has been translated. The main text for the installer have been, as promised; but the left pane of more general info. has not.
I find no other sign of Portuguese on either CD, but then
space is usually limited on LiveCD's. After installation I presume that Portuguese language is as good as any non-Portuguese distro.
There are only Spanish, French, & Italian on-line MEPIS fora mentioned in the 7.0 Desktop Manual.
