Hi Mepis users
Working in root and create a new file named 95xim in order to have chinese fonts and fcitx run with openoffce writer
/etc/X11/xsession saved this new file exit and reboot Mepis 6
user name on login menu is correct
Password is not accepted
so can not start Mepis6
Use Mepis 6 Cd and login as root to mnt/hdb7 Mepis/etc/X11/Xsession.d
rename the 95xim old and restart Mepis Password now correct boots to
Hard drive Mepis.
Have seached many files but have yet to locate the password file that is required to start mepis.
I can stop Mepis from starting by creating the 95xim then have to rename it in order to use my password
I would like to learn where that password file is?

AFAIK, MEPIS 6 uses shadow passwords & therefore puts them (hashed) in the file /etc/shadow.


I have no idea how the actions you describe could possibly block MEPIS from using the passwords in that file. Maybe someone w/ more X or fonts experience can enlighten us.
