Not able to configure MPlayer on Mappies

While configure MPlayer on Mappies I got following errors:
X11 support required for GUI compilation.
Though I installed all ossible dev files still the same problem.
Is there any way out?

Unfamiliar with Mappies, but it sounds as if you are missing the X-windows system header files...

This can happen (in Fedora Core 3, for example) if you install it and you do NOT tick the "x development packages" option...

i assume, since you are in the MEPIS forum that is what "Mappies" is. You dont need to to install mplayer from source, its avaliable from the repositories, just open up synaptic and search.

I understand mispronouncing MEPIS, but how do you misspell it when the word is right in front of you?
