Mepis Questions

Hi all,

Im 2 days into the world of Linux.

I just downloaded a CDLive copy of the latest Mepix after recomendation from other posters on the Newbie Forums.

When i try to play the game TuxRacer 3D, it is extremley sluggish. Any ideas why?

Also, how do i view my hardware devices?

My comp Specs are in my sig.

Thanks

You probably don't have 3d acceleration enabled. Did you check the box during the install to use the official drivers? If not then open Mepis control center and click on the box. Then hold down crtl alt backspace and you should be fine.
Try showing the output of infobash.

You'll find your hardware devices in KMenu >> System >> InfoCenter.

That's probably why you can't see the ATI tab ...

You might try kanotix. You can install the drivers very easily using the live cd. I mepis have you tried open the os center or mepis command center or whatever its called now? I donīt know if it works with the live cd but try clicking the check mark for the official drivers then press ctl alt backspace together.
