Unhappy Mepis Losing Support ?

I have used Mepis 11 for the last two years and have been very happy with it. Regrettably however, the maintainer, Warren Woodford, seems to have dropped it, although there is nothing official about this and no-one has stepped forward to take over. From the Mepis website :

http://forum.mepiscommunity.org/view...p?f=73&t=36912

Does anyone has more information on this matter?

Rather than another maintainer taking over, there have been two active forks, antiX and MX-14 (lightweight and middleweight), both maintained by Anticapitalista, and some Mepis users are going with those. Some others, including me, have gone to SolydX or SolydK which are also Debian based and have the default desktop of Xfce and KDE respectively.

Unhappy

Yes, saw the link, which was a discussion about a year ago. I was aware that there was a beta of Mepis 12 back then, but as far as I know it it has got no further since, seemingly abandoned. Looks like Danum was trying to take it forward but does not seem to have got anywhere with it either.

I have used (and still use) Mepis and antiX for (many) years and decided last year to give SolydK and SolydX a go.
After about 6-7 months of regular using SolydK/X I stopped using them. Not really satisfied with the 3-months upgrade cycle resulting in 1 GB upgrade packs. I went back to MX-14.2 as my main system, but also use antiX, Mepis (the last Mepis 12 test version) and Debian KDE.
