I like the MEPIS-Live CD very much; however I have a
problem with printing from the Live-CD.

I have a 586 Desktop computer on which I have
WIN-98 installed and I use the MEPIS-Live CD on it.

Then, I install my printer on MEPIS-Live CD (HP Deskjet 890C)
but, as soon as I shut-off my computer, my printer installation
disappears. Is there a way to add the printer configuration to the
MEPIS-Live CD (because it is a CD-RW)?
Or can I add the printer configuration for MEPIS on hda1 (C:drive)?

Your help will be very much appreciated.

You are only running the machine in MEPIS while using the liveCD? Of course the settings will disappear

BUT, you can save the settings on your c: drive.

The file you want would be located in the /etc/cups/ppd directory. So copy the small file that has your printer name on it to your c: drive.

Save it to a USB memory stick

You don not have approx. 5gig to install MEPIS on? This would save you a LOT of hassles
