Question MEPIS and TV

Has anyone ever tried watching TV via MEPIS and a TV Tuner card? If so, please tell me about your experiences. I watch TV via Windows XP and a TV Tuner card (WinTV PVR 150). Could my TV Tuner card work with MEPIS (or any Linux)?

One reason I like the WinTV PVR 150 is that it has a "dedicated" processor, so I can do other things while watching TV.

If you do not have any information or experiences to share. . .perhaps you could point me in the proper direction (i.e., forum, website, etc).

FYI: MEPIS 3.43. KDE 3.43. Nvida something-or-other card (I think Nvidia GeForce FX 5200. . .whatever it is, it has 128 memory). 1 gig of ram. 2 gig swap.

I look forward to your replies. Thanks!

you will need the IVTV driver. currently ivtv only works properly with mythtv

ivtv is a royal pain to install properly on mepis with the stock kernel, however some versions of mepis (3.3.1 does 3.4.3 does not) come with ivtv already installed making for a much simpler setup.

good luck with getting it set up, feel free to ask more questions if you need help or advice regarding this
