Mepis and IXP cipset

Hi everyone. I'm placing Mepis on my wifes PC and her board has the ATI IXP chipset on it. This chipset is supported in 2.6 kernel along with the rest of her components, but on the live cd its no where to be found. Is it possible to add modules to the CD or will I have to compile on another PC and place on a floppy?
