MEPIS's rapid shutdown
 
I am impressed by MEPIS's shutdown process (SimplyMEPIS, installed on my HD), which is extremely fast, at least in comparison with my other distros. It makes Knoppix, the slowest (as far as I can tell) look ridiculous.
