MEPIS's clock keeps changing my timezone

Does anyone else have a problem with MEPIS 7 frequently changing their timezone? Mine does. I don't know whether to blame it on MEPIS or my failing HD. (Many curious errors like that have been happening.)

I have never seen this behavior. The only time that I experience clock and time related issues on any Linux distribution are times when I bounce between distributions and I have accidentally set UTC instead of local time as the default, and/or if I also do not have the Network Time Daemon (ntpd) enabled. Fixing both of these issues - and either universally using UTC or local time on all systems, and consistently correcting the clock with NTP always fixes any clock time issues.

Thanks. It's probably an effect of my HD failing.
