Damn I did a dumb thing. Mepis was complaining everytime I went to update, that 2 files (meauto & meauto_data) could not be authenticated and would not install. So I thought I will just uninstall and reinstall and life will be good. Oh boy was I wrong. Now my sound doesn't work nor any internet connection. I checked the cache for packages and searched the forum here and at mepis but found nothing? It is on my Dell Inspiron 600m laptop and what I want to do is just download the 2 packages on my desktop, burn them on CD and reinstall on laptop. Is this possible? If so where do i get them?
Distribution: ArchLinux (Can use any distro though)

okay im going to give a little clarification to you first.
meauto is what manages your modules on mepis, and the authentication bit just wanted you to confirm that they came from an untrusted source, because mepis hasnt implemented the gpg signing yet. so uninstalling that was a bad idea.
what you need to do now is tell me what your network card is so i can fix your little error and get you a network connection, then you can go downoad the simplymepis metapackage from apt
I used to run Mandrake 10.1 and when I needed anything I could just go to http://rpm.pbone.net/and download a ton of RPM packages.....Can't I get the 2 DEB packages that I need somewhere on the internet?
WOW did I learn alot on this little problem. I have solved the problem thanks to some people here and Warren. The biggest problem was the info I had in my sources.list file. Here is the line that finally worked;
