MBR problems using Mepis 6.5.00

I installed Mepis 6.5.00 64 bit on my new HP desktop. The processor is AMD 64X2 4600. O/S is Windows Vista home premium. The hard drive has been partition with Linux on sda6. Grub only show Mepis on sda6 and does not show windows. The only way to get to windows was to installed Suse Linux over Mepis . Is there somethings I can do to get grub in Mepis to work? I don't know why Suse will work and not Mepis. I want to use Mepis not Suse.
